| In this painting art students are following the traditional practice of drawing from classical statues, in this case in the New York Metropolitan Museum. The painting is based on a photograph taken by my wife Julie, who is quite a good photographer.
I think of this painting as a reversal of the stereotypical scene, in which fully-clothed male artists are painting a nude female model. |
